Located just off of Highway 401, downtown Kitchener is easy to reach whether you are travelling from the east (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal), from the west (London, Windsor, Detroit) or from the south (Niagara Falls, Buffalo).
How to Get to Downtown Kitchener From the East (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal):
Follow Highway 401 Westbound to Exit #278. The sign reads Hwy 8 West Kitchener-Waterloo. Continue on Highway 8 until you reach a fly-over and are presented with the option of taking Highway 7/8 or Highway 85. Do not take these options, but continue straight as the road you are on turns into King Street, Kitchener’s main street.
How to Get to Downtown Kitchener From the West (Detroit, Windsor, London):
Follow Highway 401 Eastbound to Exit #278B. The sign reads Hwy 8 West Kitchener-Waterloo. Continue on Highway 8 until you reach a fly-over and are presented with the option of taking Highway 7/8 or Highway 85. Do not take these options, but continue straight as the road you are on turns into King Street, Kitchener’s main street.
How to Get to Downtown Kitchener From the South (Niagara Falls, Buffalo):
Follow the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) across the Burlington Skyway. Take exit 100 West onto Highway 403 westbound. Take the 403 West to Highway 6 North to Highway 401, at the village of Morriston. Continue westbound on Highway 401 until exiting Hwy 8 at #278 for Kitchener-Waterloo. Continue on Highway 8 until you reach a fly-over and are presented with the option of taking Highway 7/8 or Highway 85. Do not take these options, but continue straight as the road you are on turns into King Street, Kitchener’s main street.
