Residents of Kitchener enjoy a wealth of programs and resources close to home thanks to a working partnership between City staff and volunteers from of the city’s many neighbourhood associations.
The City’s community programs and services division provides services and supports to all neighbourhoods through neighbourhood associations. Staff in each of the City’s districts work closely with association volunteer committees and other groups to facilitate recreation and leisure program delivery, facility management and neighbourhood-based resource development.
This partnership provides the kind of creative, safe and enjoyable community programs that city residents of all ages have come to count on.

Working together for the betterment of all and providing a “forum for win-win situations” is the prime motivation of the Downtown Neighbourhood Alliance (DNA).
The DNA includes the Auditorium Neighbourhood Association; Central Frederick Neighbourhood Association; Civic Centre Neighbourhood Association; Mount Hope Neighbourhood Association; Victoria Park Neighbourhood Association; Cedar Hills Neighbourhood Association; and King East Neighbourhood Association.
The Alliance conducts a comprehensive review of neighbourhood issues, needs and concerns related to the residents of downtown neigbhourhoods, and acts as a democratic body that fairly represents the views of its neighbourhoods.
