It’s Stef Golling from the Downtown Kitchener BIA, and I couldn't be more excited to share our latest collaboration with you! Together with the creative mind behind Stroll Walking Tours, Juanita Metzger, we've crafted a series of experiences that encapsulate the essence of our vibrant city.

Our walking tours aren't your typical sightseeing expeditions; they're immersive journeys that invite you to uncover hidden gems, savour local flavours, and connect with the incredible individuals who make Downtown Kitchener so special. These walks celebrate what truly sets us apart – our flavours, our art, and, most importantly, our people.

DTK Art Walk

Surprise! We’re switching up 13 new art installations!! You know what that means?! It’s time for an artful seek & find adventure!

This 90-minute walking tour explores the outdoor gallery in DTK, scouring the alleys and backs of buildings for these creative works scattered throughout the downtown core. We’ll learn about the artists, their practice and hear what you think the outdoor gallery contributes to a vibrant community! As Juanita Metzger always says, “Art is meant to be discussed”, so let’s go walk and talk about art!

Fuel for Connection

Don’t tell us there’s nowhere to hang out in Downtown Kitchener; you just need to know where the action is!

We thrive on human interaction and connection, and we need more of it in our lives. You feel 10x better after meeting up with a friend, your partner, a colleague, or your parents, IRL!  This fuel-focused walking tour highlights places to hang out, unwind, catch up, and fuel your need for connection with other. Indoors and outdoors, cozy corners and atmospheric undergrounds, Downtown Kitchener has space for every kind of connection - it just makes you feel damn good, and you should do it more often!

Flavours of the World

Get ready because we’re about to overload your senses with incredible flavours & presentation! 

Every chef is inspired by flavours from some corner of the world; whether it’s flavours from home or the flavours of ‘food love’, it all cooks down to delicious! 

A vibrant food scene is the cornerstone of many communities, and this walking tour will introduce you to the chefs & owners bringing international journeys, recipes and flavour to life in Downtown Kitchener. 

We’ll learn about culturally diverse food offerings from seven different countries – arrive on an empty stomach because you will need to choose a dinner location after the walking tour! Guaranteed, you will be hungry!

Follow the Flavour

Get a taste of Downtown Kitchener – it’s downright delicious! A vibrant food scene is the cornerstone of many cities, and this 90-minute food sampling tour will introduce you to unique restaurants, gourmet food shops, hidden lunch spots and eateries. Meet local chefs and food entrepreneurs who are serving up diverse food offerings, morning, noon, and night! DTK has your flavour anytime!

There’s always a new business opening up in Downtown Kitchener, but how do you find out what’s interesting and hot?

Join this walking tour, of course!! We’ll explore fresh discoveries, the latest new business openings, community initiatives, special events and everything that’s new & notable in DTK.

You’ll really feel like a downtown insider once you know about the latest gems right in your own backyard. And then you can invite all your friends to show them how ‘in-the-know’ you are about all things DTK!

These walks, brought to you by the Downtown Kitchener BIA and the DTK business community, are free to participate in, but registration is required.
