Nicole Beno has called Downtown Kitchener home since 2015. She splits her time between being a graphic designer and an artist. Her work has been featured across downtown, including DTK’s summer series artwork in 2018 and “Objects of Desire” during CAFKA Biennial the same year. When I moved to Kitchener about five years ago I used to wander around taking photos of peculiarities. The city felt new and exciting to me, and I had to use Google maps on my phone to even find my way to work.
Summer 2020 has also been a new experience, but not how anyone expected. In the spirit of making the most of the staycation lifestyle, my partner Andrew and I ventured downtown to rekindle some excitement.
